"Dash-doorhandle-6 cyl none the richer" (dash-doorhandle-and-bondo)

I’m going to look at an old wagon, not the one in the picture. but something like it. Six, three on the tree, running, drives. this sort of thing is my bag baby. BUT, Mrs doorhandle has capped the number of cars I can drive and park. (she’s right, you know) So one has to go. That one will probably be the mustang. I thing a wagon is more my thing than a muscle car.
What would you do? Bonus to anyone who can guess exactly the car I’ve found. I’m not posting the actual car because I’m seriously trying to make this happen. If you can guess the model of poncho I have in mind I’ll plotz! gotta be the only remaining one.

i used to drive past one of these out in west texas on a real regular basis. it was the same shade of blue someone had elcamino-ized it. it had monster 10 inch wide ansen slots on in the back. left a real impression. it never moved in 15 years, until one day it was gone. gone but not forgotten.......

Ah, I came to post this! !! About the only other possibility would be a Tempest, which doesn’t look like his picture.
I bet you’re right.

I think the pic is a Catalina wagon.

It is, but for at least most of the 1960s, big Pontiacs all had a V8 in the US - the Tempest / Lemans was the only way to get 4 or 6 cylinders.
Canadian Pontiac mirrored a lot of Chevy drive trains, so they were available with a 6.

Wagons are cool. I personally would like a Gran Torino Wagon, but there are quite a few out there I’d still take in a heartbeat. Alas, I won’t be ditching the Cougar for one.
I looked at a Catalina before I got the Cougar. It was cool, just not what I wanted at the time.

I actually tend to forget that the Parisienne was a Canadian thing since my grandfather had one here in the states. His was from the mid-80s so pretty late in the model run and I’m not sure where exactly he got it, but being in Washington it probably wasn’t too difficult.

Haha - I wasn’t thinking, but I figured you probably were - Chevy was the only GM brand to offer 6's in full sized cars in the US in that era.
Good luck — hope you get it, and post some pics! Sounds awesome—

I was trying to remember the Canadian Pontiacs from that time - Laurentian, Parisienne, and Strato Chief, I think—US cars all had V8 power as far as I know (I’m 100% sure through 1964, and fairly sure from there until 1977).

Damn. My first guess was Safari but I don’t think Pontiac made them in 6's.

Nice! Thanks - being in the US, I know just enough to be dangerous about the Canadian Pontiacs. Are you the owner of the ‘65 Strato Chief 6/stick on here? I can’t remember - but someone on here does.
I’ve always had a thing for Acadians/Beaumonts, partly because I love the Nova/Chevelle/GTO from that same era.

If it’s a 6 it has to be the mid-size. I know the Buick Sportwagons but I can’t think of the name of the Pontiac wagons. Tempest?

That’s it!! Sorry, didn’t realize you sold it.
Sounds like this wagon could replace it!
